Guides
| Guide | Description |
|---|---|
| Find and change a setting | Open the window, filter, read the marks, change a value, show more columns |
| Reset, revert and undo | Put a value back to its default, remove a value at one level, take back a change, and read the restart banner |
| Move settings between machines | Export settings to a file, import them on another machine, and read what the import did not take |
| Save a preset | Save, apply and delete a named preset, and use the built-in presets of Construct |
| Change a keyboard shortcut | Give a shortcut another key, see when two shortcuts want the same key, and reset a shortcut |
Where the settings window is
Every app opens its settings window with Ctrl+,. Where the platform has its own Preferences key, that key works too: Ctrl+Shift+, on KDE and Cmd+, on macOS.
| App | Also opens from | Levels in "Write to" |
|---|---|---|
| Construct | The gear button in the toolbar | New scenes, Scene, and Camera when the viewport looks through a camera |
| Paint | The settings button of the brush panel, and the toolbar | One level |
| Hub, Agent, Remote | Settings in the setup menu | One level |
| Trove | Its own settings window | All projects, and one project |
The window is not modal. Every change applies at once, so you can keep the window open beside the app and watch the result.
