Verified Preset Badge
The "this preset has worked here before" mark
Verified Preset Badge
The small ✓ icon you see next to some preset names is the verified-preset badge. It's an entirely durable axis of information about a preset — not a live state.
The badge means: on this agent, this preset content has reached Running at least once. The agent flashed it, the firmware came up, the host↔board handshake succeeded. Whatever the live connection looks like right now — Connected, Connecting, Silent — is a separate axis (the DeviceChip on the BuildInjectWidget band is its surface).
Where you see it
| Surface | What the badge tells you |
|---|---|
| Preset picker (Fixo Studio → Presets, and the activity's "Change active preset…") | Which presets in the library you've already gotten to work on this agent |
| Unboxing wizard Hardware row | Green when the active preset is verified (= you've completed Fixo at least once) |
| Future surfaces: template-pick page, FixoStudio's preset manager | Same meaning, same icon |
It is per-agent — verifying a preset on agent A says nothing about agent B. The contract is "this content has worked with this hardware".
How it appears and disappears
- Appears as soon as the firmware reaches Connected (PONG or STATUS from numex). The agent records the preset's content hash into the durable verified-preset index at
<userDataDir>/fixo/verified-presets.json. - Persists across agent restarts. Reaching Connected once is the milestone — subsequent restarts where the link happens to be in flight don't demote it.
- Disappears when the preset content changes: every save mints a new content hash and the new hash needs its own verification. The old hash stays in the index but is effectively orphaned because no preset still references it.
Skipping the Fixo flow on the unboxing wizard does not award the badge. The skip flag is a separate UX bit — see the unboxing wizard reference.
Visual
The badge is a small outlined ✓ in a rounded square, using the project's brand-accent green. Same shape across both themes; the colour resolves through the theme so dark- and light-mode users see appropriate contrast.
Three coverage states are captured in the widget catalog:
- None verified — fresh agent, no preset has reached Running yet.
- Some verified — typical state where one or two presets have a history of working and the rest haven't.
- All verified — every preset in the library has reached Running at some point on this agent.
