construct::xport
Mesh export: the scene field baked to a mesh, post-processed and written to a file.
| Group | construct |
Detailed description
The export pipeline compiles the scene field once, divides the volume into chunks, extracts triangles from each chunk on the CPU or the GPU, runs the post-process chain on the mesh, and writes it with the mesh I/O registry. The namespace is xport and not export because export is a C++ keyword.
Function documentation
passengerStepLabel
QString xport::passengerStepLabel(const QString &spec, bool tetVolume)
The menu label of the passenger step spec, as the user chose it.
A batch job and an undo step name the operation the way the menu did, so "Merge coplanar faces" appears in the batch list and not the job type `construct/mesh_file` (construct-field-defects D7). A grouped step carries its group: `qemDecimate(0.5)` is "Decimate 50 %". The label comes from passengerMenuSteps(), the table the menu is built from, so a new step needs no label code.
spec is the step as the chain spells it, for example `coplanarMerge`. tetVolume is true for the Tet ▸ label of a tet volume, and false for the Mesh ▸ label of a tri mesh. When the step has only the other label, that one is used.
Returns the translated label, or spec itself when no menu entry has it.
