SentinelLink

The link between an application and its crash sentinel (diagnostic-reports §DGK-4).

In the namespace platform::crash. Declared in src/libs/libplatform/platform/CrashSentinel.hpp.

Detailed description

The application starts crash-sentinel once, after it takes its process-health slot. The sentinel gets, by handle inheritance, the application's own process handle, a crash event, a done event and a shared memory block. When the exception filter runs, it writes the block, sets the crash event and waits for the done event: the sentinel writes the minidump from outside the crashed process, as Microsoft advises. When the application exits with no crash event, the sentinel reads its exit code.

Windows only. On other platforms startSentinel() returns a link that does not run, and signalSentinel() returns false: the POSIX crash handler and the run record cover them.
