WindowGeometryHost

The geometry window-feature (§ACW-8 slice 2).

Inherits QObject

In the namespace octomy::window. Declared in src/libs/libwindow/window/WindowGeometryHost.hpp.

Detailed description

Puts a top-level window where it was the last time, and stores where it is when the window hides. NodeWindow did this in loadWindowGeometry(), saveWindowGeometry() and hideEvent(), keyed by the node type. A window that composes this feature names its own key.

The order of the choices

  1. On a platform whose windows fill the screen (platform::system::windowsFillTheScreen()), the window is full screen.
  2. When the placement asks for full screen (--fullscreen), or the person left the window full screen (the setting fullscreenSettingKey()), the window takes the geometry of its screen and then goes full screen. The geometry comes first: setGeometry() on a full-screen window clears the state. Without a window manager nobody honors the full-screen hint, and the geometry still fills the screen.
  3. Otherwise ScreenManager gives the stored geometry of the key, or a suggestion of the default size.

What it stores

The geometry of the window when it hides: a node ends through applicationShutdown(), which hides the window before the process exits, and no destructor runs after that. A full-screen window stores nothing, so the stored geometry stays the windowed one.

Note: §ACF-5 classification: **GLUE**. No lifecycle tier, no Node.
