Detailed description
Specified in [§OCSD-2](../../../../content/doc/internal/specs/opal-chat-surface/design.md).
**The payload decides the segments, not a fixed column list.** A window a provider does not report is not drawn. An empty gauge implies a number that nobody has, and this tree has already paid once for a status surface that looked informative and was not.
**Spend, never headroom.** A bar fills as budget is consumed, so a full bar always means one thing. The shell statusline this tree ships states the same rule, and the two must not disagree.
**What the providers can actually supply.** Claude Code's `rate_limit_event` carries a window name and a reset time, and no percentage — so its quota bar shows the clock's progress through the window, not spend (QuotaWindow). Token spend comes from `LLMUsageTracker`, which already persists it; this widget adds no counter of its own, because two counters disagree eventually.
