Detailed description

One stand-in node, in depth-first order.

parent indexes the same list. -1 means a direct operand of the subject. role is the index of the subject's direct operand this node belongs to, so a nested node takes its top-level operand's color: an L shape built from two boxes reads as ONE operand, which is what it stands for.
