CyclesResolutionController

The Cycles divider controller, the default (§RVU-3).

Detailed description

A view change starts navigation at a divider of pixelSize times 8, lower when that leaves a long axis under minLongAxis. The divider only grows while the view keeps changing: a frame over the budget times the tolerance doubles it, up to the coarsest that keeps the long axis. One frame budget after the last view change, navigation ends and the divider is pixelSize. The dividers are powers of two times the pixel size.
