RegionLiveCount
The live count of each region of one document: what the region selects now, for its scene-tree row (construct-project-space §PSR-9).
| Inherits | QObject |
In the namespace construct::region. Declared in src/libs/libconstruct/construct/region/RegionLiveCount.hpp.
Detailed description
A count belongs to a mesh. The count of a region is taken on every tet volume of the document whose mesh the asset store holds, in WORLD coordinates. The row shows the sum and the tooltip gives each volume.
- No tet volume is loaded: the row shows "no volume". That is not a failure: a solve resolves the region on its own volume, and fails by name there if the region selects nothing (§PSR-6).
- The region selects nothing, or fewer than its minimum, on every volume: the row shows the §PSR-6 problem, which names the region.
- The field does not compile: the row shows why, as a problem.
The fields' nodes are made on the GUI thread (RegionField::compile()); their machine code and the counts are made on the global thread pool, one recount at a time. A recount starts 200 ms after the last change of a region, of a tet volume, of an item that holds one of them, or of the varset. A volume whose mesh is still loading is counted again one second later.
