MaterialBinding

What an item holds of a material: the definition it uses, and the values of the parameters that differ from the definition's defaults (rendering-revamp §RVM-1, §RVM-8).

In the namespace construct::model. Declared in src/libs/libconstruct/construct/model/MaterialBinding.hpp.

Detailed description

A null binding (an empty use) is "no material": the item inherits the binding of its nearest ancestor that has one (§RVM-4). The root's binding app-default is the material library's Default entry, read live.

A value is what a ParameterValue stores: a literal, or a string with the = prefix, which is an expression. Only values that differ from the defaults are kept, so a binding that a user did not change is use.
