Detailed description

The registry records what is open; it does not show anything. Opening, activating and closing a document are interface acts as well as registry edits — activation re-targets every panel (§CDC-3), closing detaches the viewport before the document goes — so a task that did them on the registry directly would leave the shell pointing at the wrong document, or at a destroyed one. `ConstructShell` implements this and installs itself; the `construct.document.*` tasks go through it whenever one is installed.

Every method runs on the thread that owns the interface. The tasks marshal to it; an implementation may assume it.
