config::ui::ConfigView

The parts of the settings window, in one widget a host places anywhere.

Detailed description

The filter field and the category column on the left, as in KDE System Settings. The table on the right, with a detail strip under it, the restart banner and the footer (config-ui §CFGU-2). The widget does not know its host: a window, a dialog or a pane (config-ui §CFG-2.3).

The filter

Each keystroke culls the table and the category column on the next turn of the event loop. No Enter is needed. A change of the text shows every match from every category, grouped by category; a click on a category then narrows the table to it, and the text stays (config-ui §CFGU-3).
