Represents an active communication session with a remote associate.

Detailed description

CommsSession tracks the state of an ongoing or recent connection with another node. It maintains handshake state, cryptographic nonces, reliability metrics, and flow control parameters.

Session state progression:

  • Created with a Key identifying the remote associate
  • Handshake initiated (SYN sent or received)
  • Handshake completed (ACK exchanged)
  • Connected (active data exchange)
  • Expired (timeout with no activity)
