Fixo in one page

Fixo is OctoMY's path from "I have hardware on the desk" to "this hardware moves when I drag a widget on my remote." It turns your physical rig — board, servos, sensors — into purpose-built firmware that runs your control intent in real time.

What Fixo is responsible for

Three things, in this order:

  1. Describing your rig. A preset names the board, lists the actuators (each pinned and tagged), and lists any sensors. Presets live with the agent that runs them; you can keep several side by side and switch between them.
  2. Wiring intent to outputs. A stanza binds a lobe — a small real-time program that knows how to translate a control intent into per-actuator commands — to a remote-side input channel. A single preset can hold many stanzas, one per behaviour you want the rig to perform.
  3. Building and injecting firmware. Fixo compiles the lobes the stanzas reference into a board-targeted binary and flashes it onto the connected board. Once the firmware is running, the agent streams remote inputs into the lobes in real time.

The wizard's job

The Fixo wizard (Set up Fixo in the agent unboxing flow) walks those three things in order:

Every page is non-modal: edits persist immediately, and a Skip — set up Fixo later action is always reachable. You can come back any time from the agent menu.

When not to use the wizard

The wizard is the gentle path. Once you've done it once, the Fixo Studio surface (Manage → Presets, Manage → Boards, …) is where you edit existing presets, author custom lobes, and shape stanzas by hand. The wizard remains available as the "back to safety" route if you ever want a fresh, guided start.
