    Detailed Description

Two copies of this job existed until 2026-10-08. NodeWindow made a SplashScreen in its constructor and configured it when the node arrived. StandaloneHarness made one after it showed the shell. Both used the same timing, and both paused every toast countdown while the splash covered the window.

This class is the shared part: make the splash, cover the host, end it on request or at a ceiling, and say when it is gone. The toast pause is not here, because libsplash depends on nothing and the toast model lives in libwidgets. Each host hands splash() to toast::ToastManager::pauseWhile() instead — one line, and the pause rule itself has one home.

What ends the splash stays each host's business. The node window ends it from its startup state machine; the harness ends it on the shell's first presented frame. Both call done().

No OC_METHODGATE here, on purpose: libsplash is a zero-dependency leaf, and the gate lives in libuptime.

The splash makes itself a Qt child of the host and deletes itself after its fade, so this feature holds it by QPointer only.
