An activity is a QWidget the ActivityStack pushes, resumes, pauses and pops. It owns its own lifecycle state and the hooks a subclass overrides — onResume_, onPause_, onPushed_ and popImpl — so a screen never has to know whether it is visible, which host it is in, or how it was reached.
Three typed markers narrow the contract rather than widening this class: PageActivity for an ordinary screen, PromptActivity for one that returns a value to its caller, and RootActivity for one that cannot be popped.
