Detailed Description

Centered illustration (:/images/dont-panic.svg, scaled to one third of the smaller parent dimension while preserving aspect) over a pill-shaped search input. Acts as an entry point into the help browser; once the user starts typing, the overlay morphs its search field toward the real one underneath and fades out, then hides until the activity is left and re-entered.

The overlay tracks the geometry of its parent via an event filter rather than a layout — it sits above the splitter, not inside it.
